CBP Updates Guidance on Steel and Aluminum HTS

On June 9, 2025, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued updated guidance via Cargo System Messaging Service #65288784 and #65289012.  The update clarifies the U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) numbers applicable for import duties on steel, aluminum, and their derivative products, as outlined in the Presidential Proclamation issued on June 3, 2025.  

The revised HTS list for steel and aluminum products now aligns with the provisions of the Presidential Proclamation that has been published in the Federal Register.
