Account Manager – Bulk Commodities

Primary Location: Plano, TX United States of America

C.H. Robinson is seeking an Account Manager – Bulk Commodities where in this role you will lead carrier relationships across dedicated freight networks while driving performance, service excellence, and cost efficiency. You will act as the primary point of contact for carriers, managing rates, lane bids, and scorecards to ensure consistent delivery against customer expectations. In this role you will collaborate closely with clients and internal teams, own large RFP initiatives, and resolve escalations with strong critical thinking and urgency. You will build strategic partnerships, influence service improvements, and champion the value of the dedicated service line. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manage carriers hauling dedicated freight consisting of closed loop routes, corridors, one-way shipments and drop trailers 

  • Communicate professionally with a variety of client(s) and internal network

  • Manage carrier rates, lane bids and maintains master rate file

  • Publish and interpret carrier scorecards and service metrics

  • Work directly with customer on large RFP exercises

  • Act as carrier escalation point to assist with the resolution of any open issues

  • Apply critical thinking skills to effectively resolve problems and identify the best course of action

  • Develop strong relationships within the CHR network while promoting the benefits of the dedicated service line

  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned according to the team and/or country specific requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the supply chain industry

Preferred:

  • In-depth knowledge of market seasonality

  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills

  • A strong communicator/influencer

  • Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills

  • Highly organized and able to recognize important details

  • Strong capabilities in Microsoft Office Suite of Programs

  • Values a diverse and inclusive work environment

  • Fluent in English and Spanish (written and verbal)

Compensation Range

$24.28 - $54.99
