Delivering on Promises: 2020 Contract Carriers of the Year Award Winners

Our annual Contract Carrier of the Year Awards are an opportunity to recognize North American carriers in our network that continually offer outstanding service.

In the past, we’ve honored the winners at an event at our corporate headquarters. Instead, I am happy to have the opportunity to announce our Contract Carriers of the Year winners virtually in advance of National Truck Driver Appreciation Week.

This announcement aligns perfectly with the annual week recognizing the hard work of drivers across the United States. With all the uncertainty in our world, there’s one thing that’s never been more clear, what the North American carrier community does every single day truly matters.

C.H. Robinson’s 2020 Contract Carriers of the Year award winners

This year, we recognize 14 contract carriers—out of our network of over 78,000—as winners of the C.H. Robinson 2020 Contract Carriers of the Year Awards:

Winners of the 1-4 trucks category

Unbroken, LLC
Cecil Jones, the owner of Unbroken, LLC., believes in taking the initiative. He has grown from owning and operating a single tractor to having a small fleet of tractors in the past year. His focus on finding efficiencies and openly communicating are just a few examples of Cecil’s efforts to go above and beyond.

American Veterans Logistics, LLC
Owned by an Air Force veteran, Robert Racchi, American Veteran Logistics, LLC., employs drivers who are timely, respectful, and dependable. As president of the company, Robert is honest, fair, and believes in treating his employees like family. By focusing on getting the job done right every time, they certainly deserve their positive reputation.

Reyhana Transport, Inc.
Mohammad Ibrahim, the owner of Reyhana Transport, Inc., always goes the extra mile—even beyond hauling loads. Whether picking up last minute shipments or offering perspective on future carrier initiatives C.H. Robinson is working on, Mohammad and his four drivers are willing to help. This positive, flexible attitude makes Reyhana Transport, Inc., an easy company to work with.

Winners of the 5-19 trucks category

Toroco Trucking, LLC
As a family-owned business, everyone at Toroco Trucking, LLC., is professional, loyal, and fun to work with. When the company expanded from hauling only within California to offering long-haul service, they quickly developed a reputation as having reliable, hardworking drivers who aren’t afraid to think outside the box to make customers happy.

Dinkel Carrier Group, LLC
Over the years, Dinkel Carrier Group, LLC., has grown from two trucks to eight, but their service levels have always been amazing. Across the board, their drivers display a great willingness to go where they’re needed most. And when circumstances change abruptly—as sometimes happens—they quickly offer solutions rather than waiting for someone else to come up with an answer.

Winners of the 20-74 trucks category

Global Transport Ohio, LLC
When it comes to delivering a high level of service and commitment, Global Transport Ohio, Inc. has consistently delivered. Over the past 13 years working with C.H. Robinson, Zlatko Beganovic, the company’s owner, has time and time again shown his dedication to creating a business that does the job right. Today, with more than 22 trucks in the company, Global Transport Ohio, LLC, understands what hard work, strategic thinking, and a supportive family can achieve.

State Express, Inc.
Quality service and support is what State Express, Inc., is known for. When it comes to answering the call, no one does it better. Our strong working relationship is built on mutual trust, honesty, and open communication. By focusing on a unique mix of in-person collaboration, like onsite business reviews, combined with technology and autobooking loads, State Express, Inc., is a loyal carrier.

Winner of the 75-200 trucks category

Bettaway Beverage Distributors, Inc.
Early in the relationship, it was clear that BETT-A-WAY Beverage Distributors, Inc. shared the same culture, strategic approach, and customer service beliefs as C.H. Robinson. By specializing in complex solutions for a range of customers, this company is always ready to serve and execute their assigned lanes.

Winner of the 201+ trucks category

J&R Schugel Trucking, Inc.
Loyal, professional, and responsive describes what kind of carrier J&R Schugel Trucking, Inc. is on any given day. J&R Schugel Trucking, Inc. believes in making commitments then meeting them to the fullest. They have a near 100% compliance rate and are quick to respond and communicate—whether things are moving smoothly or if issues arise.

Winners of our specialized categories

Flatbed carrier of the year: Dun-It Freight
When it comes to delivering last minute, expedited, or otherwise challenging loads, Dun-It Freight knows how to “make it happen.” With a proven track record of excellence, this well-run business focuses on offering safe and reliable service on every load they haul.

Temperature controlled carrier of the year: Gillson Trucking, Inc.
Gillson Trucking, Inc., understands the importance of maintaining strong relationships through market shifts. Rather than taking advantage during high markets, they focus on building sustainable relationships through fair pricing and reliable service. They advocate the highest standards of service.

LTL carrier of the year: Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc.
In addition to delivering reliable service, Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc., has differentiated themselves in countless ways, including offering terminal tours for C.H. Robinson customers. The terminal is clean, well-organized, and efficient. It’s this type of collaboration that truly sets the company apart.

LTL carrier of the year: Dayton Freight Lines, Inc.
Whether it’s late in the day or at the last minute, Dayton Freight Lines, Inc. excels in customer service and regularly goes above and beyond. Not only is their customer service prompt and reliable, but Dayton Freight Lines, Inc. can always be counted on for accurate, detailed information and friendly service.

And finally, rookie of the year

Omar Carmona Pantoja Trucking
Considering Omar Carmona Pantoja started working with C.H. Robinson in February 2019, the dedication and growth we’ve seen from him has been remarkable. Our relationship has grown from doing a couple loads a week to doing six loads per day. In addition to growing his own business, Omar has actively encouraged other carriers to do business with C.H. Robinson in order to ensure certain customer needs were met.

Celebrating carrier relationships

Please join me in congratulating our 2020 Contract Carriers of the Year! From all of us at C.H. Robinson, thank you and congratulations. These companies get it done no matter the circumstances. Thank you to our award winners for delivering on promises and making some of life’s best moments possible.

And thank you to all the truck drivers out there who work hard to ensure shelves are stocked, essentials are delivered, and the economy stays moving. Happy National Truck Driver Appreciation Week.
