Recently, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), announced the addition of 5 entities to the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) Entity list. This list has been updated for the third time this year and now has a total of 73 entities on the list. With this continued expansion of the Entity List, the United States continues their commitment to enforcement and to keeping goods made with forced labor out of U.S. supply chains, according to comments shared by Robert Silvers, DHS Under Secretary for Policy.
Effective August 9, 2024, the UFLPA rebuttable presumption will now apply to the following companies, Kashgar Construction Engineering (Group) Co., Ltd., Xinjiang Habahe Ashele Copper Co., Ltd. (also known as Ashele Copper), Xinjiang Tengxiang Magnesium Products Co., Ltd., Century Sunshine Group Holdings, Ltd., and Rare Earth Magnesium Technology Group Holdings, Ltd.
