Section 301 Increases on Tungsten Products, Wafers, and Polysilicon Effective January 1st

Dear Valued Customer,

The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) announced in a December 16th Federal Register notice an increase in Section 301 tariff rates on five subheadings of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) covering tungsten products, wafers, and polysilicon imported from China.

The rates for solar wafers and polysilicon will increase to 50 percent, and the rates for certain tungsten products will increase to 25 percent.  Review Annex A and B of the notice to confirm the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) affected and the new headings to be declared on entry to the U.S.  These tariff increases will take effect Jan. 1, 2025, at 12:01 a.m. ET.
