2017 C.H. Robinson Foundation Scholarship Recipients Announced | The Road

At C.H. Robinson, we know it’s important to give back to those who make this company great, which includes our employees and our contract carriers. For the fifth year in a row, we are proud to help fund educational opportunities for these individuals through the C.H. Robinson Foundation Scholarship Program for contract carriers and employees. I would like to congratulate the recipients of this year’s Contract Carrier Scholarship Program.

Each recipient received $2,500 to apply toward tuition—in any subject—for the upcoming 2017-2018 school year.

Ninety-nine scholarships have been awarded during the program’s history, one third of which went to help contract carriers or their children achieve their educational goals.

“As you know, success doesn’t come easy. Very few people achieve a high level of success without the help, encouragement and assistance from their family, friends and members of the community,” said Paula Dzimira, one of this year’s recipients.

Past winner, Sarah Nisivaco shares Paula’s sentiment. “As a graduate of Marquette University and now a first year medical student at Harvard Medical School, I realize full well that I could not achieve my educational goals without this support. My father and his company, Fox Brothers Transfer, Inc., have supported me throughout my educational journey and the C. H. Robinson Foundation provided me with financial assistance in the form of a scholarship. C. H. Robinson not only drives the transportation business forward, but is now driving me forward in my educational pursuits. I am proud to be a recipient of this scholarship and to share my story of the support I have received from C.H. Robinson. Your support and generosity are greatly appreciated.”

“The truckload industry is instrumental to our nation’s economy, and the great contract carriers we work with are critical to our success,” said Bob Biesterfeld, president, North American Surface Transportation. “Through the C.H. Robinson Scholarship Program, we are proud to support them and their families and help them achieve their educational goals.”

Recipients are selected based of academic performance, demonstrated leadership, participation in school and community activities, work experience, career and educational goals and unusual personal or family circumstances.
