Q: 4:00 PM: Can an AI Detect a Black Swan? Technology, Policy Shocks and Supply Chains in Uncertain Times

Last year at Advance, Mark Blyth spoke about the concept of Black and Grey Swans: risks you can’t see coming no matter your data, and the risks you can see coming but discount at your peril. He proposed an anti-fragile design for supply chains to mitigate such risks. This year, Blyth returns to build on that foundation, examining how AI management of supply chains helps to build antifragility. Despite these advancements, we’re likely to see more of these risks that challenge even the most sophisticated AI capabilities, highlighting the need for continued collaboration and strategic thinking alongside technological progress.
