C.H. Robinson is looking for an Inventory Analyst to be based on-site at our warehouse in Plainfield, Indianapolis.
In this role, you will act as the key link between inventory data and physical operations, ensuring that products are accurately managed and available to meet customer demand. As the first Inventory Analyst in this function, you will play a critical role in improving inventory visibility, supporting operational execution, and helping the business meet its service commitments.
You will work closely with internal teams and warehouse operations to manage inbound and outbound inventory flows, resolve discrepancies, and ensure the right product is available at the right time. This is a fast-paced, highly operational role requiring strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Manage inventory at rest within the warehouse, ensuring accuracy between system data and physical stock
Monitor and coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to ensure correct allocation and prioritization
Review upcoming shipments and proactively resolve inventory gaps or risks (typically 48–72 hours in advance)
Ensure products are available to meet customer demand and support required service levels (fill rate targets)
Identify, investigate, and resolve inventory discrepancies in collaboration with warehouse teams
Work across multiple systems to track inventory movements and maintain data integrity
Collaborate closely with warehouse operations, transportation teams, and internal stakeholders to support execution
Communicate effectively across internal teams to align on priorities, issues, and solutions
Support continuous improvement of inventory processes and workflows
Operate within defined SOPs and operational guidelines
Contribute to achieving operational KPIs related to inventory accuracy, service levels, and execution
Adapt to changing priorities, demand fluctuations, and operational challenges in a fast-paced environment
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 2 years of experience in supply chain, warehouse operations, inventory management, or a related field
Preferred:
Experience in food distribution, warehouse operations, or similar high-volume supply chain environments
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, operational environment
Good level of Excel (e.g., sorting, filtering, lookups)
Experience working with inventory or warehouse management systems
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions with incomplete information
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Strong communication skills across different stakeholder groups
High level of ownership, accountability, and adaptability
Ability to perform under pressure and manage changing priorities effectively

Compensation Range
$22.94 - $36.35The base pay range displayed on the job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base pay for this specific location. Your individual base pay within this range is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
