Dear Valued Customer,

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has made a few updates to the UFLPA Entity list and Withhold Release orders (WRO) in the last few weeks.  The Entity List now restricts goods from 78 People’s Republic of China (PRC) based companies from being imported to the U.S.

Expansion of UFLPA Entity List – PRC based Textile companies

The notice from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) confirmed, “effective November 1, 2024, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will apply the rebuttable presumption that goods produced by Esquel Group, Guangdong Esquel Textile Co., Ltd., and Turpan Esquel Textile Co., Ltd. will be prohibited from entering the United States. Additionally, Changji Esquel Textile Co., Ltd. will be removed from one section of the UFLPA Entity List and added to another.”  Goods from all these manufacturers are prohibited from entering the U.S..

New WRO against Asli Maydi, Supplier of Frankincense and associated products

Effective November 1, 2024, CBP issued notice of a WRO on imports from Asli Maydi, a frankincense supplier based in Somaliland.  Their products are subject to a new WRO issued due to reasonable indication of the use of forced labor in their supply chain.  Products from this supplier are now prohibited from being imported to the U.S.
