Senior Container Platform Engineer

C.H. Robinson seeks a Senior Container Platform Engineer to provide operational support for C.H. Robinson’s Kubernetes environment, both on-premises and in our Azure cloud. The position reports to the headquarters at 14900 Charlson Road, Eden Prairie, Minnesota 55347. Telecommuting is permitted 100% of the time from anywhere in the U.S. In this role you will: effectively design, build, configure, and expose cloud native applications for Kubernetes; define application resources and use core primitives to build, monitor, and troubleshoot scalable applications and tools in Kubernetes; support the related technologies in the platform’s domain such as routing, monitoring, alerting, performance, and capacity planning; and work closely with and in conjunction with a U.S. based team, as well as other global team members, to deliver follow-the-sun support for the Kubernetes ecosystem. C.H. Robinson is a 24/7 Support Team supporting a global environment and as such, you may be asked to cover alterative shifts and be part of a weekly on-call rotation. The Compensation Range reflected indicates a national wage range for this position with C.H. Robinson. The annual salary range for the Senior Container Platform Engineer position based out of C.H. Robinson’s U.S. headquarters in Eden Prairie, MN is $103,605.00 - $154,500.00.

Basic Qualifications:

The position requires at least a bachelor’s degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IS, MIS, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field, plus at least three (3) years of experience as a Container Platform Engineer, or Cloud Engineer, or DevOps Engineer, or in a similar role involving the development of open-source platforms for managing containerized workloads and services. A qualified applicant’s experience must include: 3 years of experience working in Azure Cloud or other public cloud environment; 3 years of experience with Infrastructure as Code systems, including Terraform and/or Atlantis; 3 years of experience managing the planning and execution of version and configuration changes to a live production cluster; 3 years of experience with Kubernetes routing and load-balancing experience (Nginx and/or Kong); 3 years of experience with modern scripting languages (Bash, YAML, and/or Python); and 3 years of experience using APM/monitoring tools (Datadog and/or Prometheus).

Compensation Range
