UPDATE: Post-Helene Disruptions Continue in Southeast U.S.

  • Rows: October 01, 2024
  • Affected Regions: North America
  • Advisory Type: Weather
Dear Valued Customer,

Many road closures and power outages continue across the U.S. Southeast in the wake of Hurricane Helene. Interstates 26 and 40 between Asheville, NC and eastern Tennessee remain closed due to washouts from flash flooding and will likely impact over the road transit times as traffic is diverted around those areas.

TRUCKLOAD
Additional road closures and power outages continue to impact both available capacity and shipper operations across the Southeast, including fuel/truck stops throughout the region. Your C.H. Robinson team continues to work to support you with planning, alternative solutions, and tracking your freight.

LESS THAN TRUCKLOAD (LTL)
Many LTL terminals in the path of the storm remain closed or continue to have limited operations as of Tuesday. Shipment delays can be expected for any shipment into or out of the Southeast U.S. as terminals being to work through their backlogs.

INTERMODAL
All intermodal hubs impacted by weather are open and operational as of Tuesday. Some minor transit delays are still possible due to congestion from freight that may have been held up during the storm and as shipper freight begins to resume its normal pace.
