CHARLESTON, SC (October 26, 2017) C.H. Robinson, a global third party logistics (3PL) company, and its Charleston office contributed to a month-long, company-wide, employee-led giving campaign which raised a total of $791,000 for a variety of local and national charities. In addition to the Robinson Cares campaign fundraising, employees accumulated more than 1,450 volunteer hours, helping their neighbors in need.

The Charleston team held internal fundraising events to raise nearly $6,200 for the following charities: Carolina Youth Development Center, Lowcountry Orphan Relief and Teachers’ Supply Closet.

Additionally, employees volunteered their time with the Carolina Youth Development Center (CYDC), hosting an art morning with the children housed there. “The relationship between C.H. Robinson and CYDC on behalf of vulnerable children and families in the Lowcountry is tremendously meaningful. The company has volunteered its time with our youth, creating a 16-square-foot mural that stirs pride in our children every day,” said Gordon Robertson III, vice president of development at CYDC. “They have donated clothing that will be worn by kids who enter CYDC with no possessions other than the clothes on their backs. C.H. Robinson is also making a financial investment that will support the individualized care we provide our youth, including planning for their education, personal development, independent living and family involvement goals.”

Since 2005, C.H. Robinson, along with its Foundation, has given over $23 million back to our communities.

“Our employees are the best in the industry — not just in their supply chain expertise, but their dedication to making an impact in their communities on the issues that matter to them most,” said Angie Freeman, chief human resources officer at C.H. Robinson. “Because of them, we were able to support more than 250 nonprofits working locally and globally.”
