PHILADELPHIA, PA (October 26, 2017) C.H. Robinson, a global third party logistics (3PL) company, and its Philadelphia West office contributed to a month-long, company-wide, employee-led giving campaign. This year’s campaign raised a total of $791,000 for a variety of local and global charities. In addition to the Robinson Cares campaign fundraising, employees accumulated more than 1,450 volunteer hours, helping their neighbors in need.

The Philadelphia West office hosted internal activities, raising money for Small Steps in Speech, an organization that helps children with speech and/or language disorders take the steps needed to become better communicators. The office has a personal connection to the organization, which was founded in honor of Staff Sgt. Marc J. Small. He died while serving his country in Afghanistan. Small was the best friend of a C.H. Robinson employee from the Philadelphia West office.

In addition to fundraising, 60 employees volunteered 120 hours to Cradles to Crayons, preparing life bags for underserved children in the area. Volunteers cleaned toys, sorted clothes, packed books and created care packages for children returning to school, who otherwise wouldn’t receive the supplies they need to be successful students. “My team looks forward to this week every year,” said Bill Scribner, supervisor at C.H. Robinson. “An opportunity to give back to the community — specifically, kids — is the best.”

Since 2005, C.H. Robinson, along with its Foundation, has given over $23 million back to our communities.

“Our employees are the best in the industry — not just in their supply chain expertise, but their dedication to making an impact in their communities on the issues that matter to them most,” said Angie Freeman, chief human resources officer at C.H. Robinson. “Because of them, we were able to support more than 250 nonprofits working locally and globally.”
