DES MOINES, IA (October 26, 2017) C.H. Robinson, a global third party logistics (3PL) company, and its Des Moines and Iowa City offices contributed to a month-long, company-wide, employee-led giving campaign which raised a total of $791,000 for a variety of local and national charities. In addition to the Robinson Cares campaign fundraising, employees accumulated more than 1,450 volunteer hours, helping their neighbors in need.

The Des Moines employees hosted office events, raising nearly $4,000 for the following charities: ALS Association Iowa Chapter and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Iowa.

“We were thrilled to raise the funds and increase awareness for all the ways these organizations support our community,” said Sarah Burnett, manager at C.H. Robinson. “All of our employees participated and had fun while raising money for a worthy cause.”

The Iowa City team held a raffle and other internal fundraisers to benefit the University of Iowa Dance Marathon, Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center and Iowa City Animal Center. Additionally, employees volunteered nearly 100 hours at Iowa Valley Resource Conservation and Development, harvesting fruits and vegetables for donation to local food shelters and food pantries. “Our office’s goal is to come together and have fun while supporting great local causes. We look forward to continuing these efforts,” said Ellen Shroyer, account manager at C.H. Robinson.

Since 2005, C.H. Robinson, along with its Foundation, has given over $23 million back to our communities.

“Our employees are the best in the industry — not just in their supply chain expertise, but their dedication to making an impact in their communities on the issues that matter to them most,” said Angie Freeman, chief human resources officer at C.H. Robinson. “Because of them, we were able to support more than 250 nonprofits working locally and globally.”
