Dear Valued Customer,

We are writing to inform you of an upcoming change to C.H. Robinson’s U.S. customs duty advance service. This optional service is offered to our U.S. customs brokerage clients who prefer to have C.H. Robinson facilitate the advance payment of their duties, taxes, and fees to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on their behalf for a fee. C.H. Robinson will continue to offer this valuable service to our clients.

Given the challenging economic environment and the increased cost and risk associated with this service, we will be increasing the “Customs Duty Disbursement Fee”. Effective April 29, 2023, the rate will increase to 4.0%, with a minimum fee of $15 applied for any formal customs entry into the United States with a duty bill requiring duty advance from C.H. Robinson.

This fee is waived for clients who pay their duties, taxes, and fees directly to CBP. We strongly encourage our clients to take advantage of CBP's Automated Clearinghouse (ACH) payment program, which allows participants to electronically pay their duties, taxes, and fees directly with CBP. In addition, CBP offers a Periodic Monthly Statement (PMS) program that allows for interest-free payment on a summary basis instead of transaction-per-transaction.

In our commitment to you, our customs and trade experts would be happy to discuss this notice and the direct payment program offered by CBP.

Thank you for being our valued customer. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your C.H. Robinson representative.

C.H. Robinson
