Join C.H. Robinson as an Indirect Procurement Manager and collaborate closely with our esteemed business leaders to strategically optimize sourcing and contract management for contract labor and professional services. Your primary objective will be to amplify cost efficiency and propel our business endeavors to new heights.
In this pivotal role, you'll spearhead innovative supplier initiatives, driving our business strategies forward. Your duties will encompass crafting comprehensive category plans for critical expenditure areas, including Staffing Augmentation/Contractors (SOW: Statement of Work) and Professional Services/SOW (SOW: Statement of Work), while also overseeing Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), MSP (Managed Service Provider), and corporate services. Guiding teams towards procurement strategies that yield tangible outcomes, you'll streamline the RFP process, skillfully negotiate contracts to meet cost-saving targets, and refine our standardized procurement procedures.
This position will require two days in the office and three days working from home, located in Eden Prairie, MN.
Responsibilities:
Analyze spending data and business needs to create category plans and strategic sourcing initiatives
Identify cost-saving opportunities within existing contractual relationships
Provide category and supplier spending data to support strategic decision-making
Encourage competitive bidding for historically non-competitive spend areas
Manage the creation and distribution of RFPs/RFQs, facilitating stakeholder communication
Evaluate proposals/quotes and recommend suitable suppliers based on quality, cost, and other criteria
Collaborate with senior business stakeholders to define and validate business requirements
Develop negotiation strategies in partnership with the business for upcoming contracts
Work with senior business stakeholders to prioritize the project pipeline
Identify and pre-qualify potential suppliers, assessing their capabilities objectively
Influence business stakeholders to consider alternative suppliers
Negotiate mutually acceptable contractual agreements with selected suppliers
Ensure all procurement activities adhere to internal policies and external regulations
Monitor changes in internal policies and external regulations
Manage and update contracts for indirect purchases, including ownership of terms and conditions and legal compliance
Utilize organizational knowledge and networks to identify new value opportunities
Mentor less experienced team members
Perform other duties as assigned based on team and country-specific requirements
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
Minimum 7 years progressive experience in Sourcing and Procurement
Comprehensive knowledge of sourcing and contracting for indirect spend
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated success negotiating favorable contractual business and legal terms
Expertise in specific spend categories, including experience working with external industry forums
Outstanding relationship building skills with an ability to work as part of a team and influence senior stakeholders
Effective and flexible communication and presentation skills, including experience with senior leadership presentations
Strong negotiating skills to deliver favorable contractual business and legal terms
Results-oriented, metrics-driven professional with expertise in purchasing, supplier collaboration, and contracting
Meets deadlines and makes decisions in line with department goals
Detail oriented with demonstrated analytical skills
Ability to effectively implement changes in a large, matrixed organization

Compensation Range
$88,500.00 - $147,400.00The base pay range displayed on the job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base pay for this specific location.
