Vice President Customer Success - North America Surface Transportation

C.H. Robinson, a global Fortune 250 Third Party Logistics company, is presently seeking a Vice President Customer Success for its North America Surface Transportation (NAST) division. Reporting to the President of NAST, Michael Castagnetto, the VP of Customer Success will be pivotal in driving commercial performance of this $12 billion dollar division.  You will lead customer growth, volume & market share expansion, as well as resource stewardship across six commercial regions. Critical to your success as the VP Customer Success is your ability to oversee a team of regional commercial vice presidents ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer experiences and sustainable, profitable, growth. Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategy:

  • Lead and mentor a team of regional commercial vice presidents to achieve customer growth objectives across North America
  • Develop and implement regional, vertical, and horizontal, strategic plans to drive volume and market share growth
  • Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team

Customer Growth and Retention:

  • Drive initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction, loyalty, and retention
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities for new business development and market expansion
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders

Financial Performance:

  • Oversee AGP and gross margin expansion initiatives
  • Implement cost reduction strategies to improve overall profitability
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance metrics, providing regular reports to stakeholders

Operational Excellence:

  • Ensure efficient and effective operations across all regions
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance service delivery
  • Drive process improvements to optimize resource utilization and reduce operational costs
  • Drive collaboration across the division and enterprise to identify needs and develop scalable solutions

Team Development:

  • Recruit, develop, and retain top talent
  • Provide ongoing coaching, training, and development opportunities for team members
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes employee engagement and growth

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in customer success, sales or operations within the transportation or logistics industry  
  • Minimum 10 years of experience leading large teams and driving significant business growth
  • Ability to travel up to 50%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple shared services and internal teams
  • Excellent formal and informal presentation skills; written and verbal
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in managing P&L
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to execute and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
  • Develops and maintains an environment of continuous improvement
  • Broad industry perspective and understanding of competitive threats and competitive positioning 
  • Deep understanding of CHR services, network, and our customer-facing value propositions
  • Engagement in industry leadership positions and associations
  • Strong working knowledge of CHR internal systems, data hubs, and processes
  • Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency & accountability
  • Values a diverse and inclusive work environment

    Compensation Range

    $270,000 - $450,000

    The base pay range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Your individual base pay within this range is determined by work location, which takes into account geographic cost of labor, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. During the hiring process, your recruiter will provide more details about the specific base pay for your location.
