COLUMBUS, OH (October 26, 2017) C.H. Robinson, a global third party logistics (3PL) company, and its Toledo and Columbus offices contributed to a month-long, company-wide, employee-led giving campaign which raised a total of $791,000 for a variety of local and national charities. In addition to the Robinson Cares campaign fundraising, employees accumulated more than 1,450 volunteer hours, helping their neighbors in need.

Toledo employees hosted a jump rope contest, a dog and cat food drive and an office bake sale to raise money for the Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity, the Toledo division of the American Heart Association and Humane Ohio.

Additionally, employees volunteered their time with Habitat for Humanity, building a model home alongside the future owners and helping complete two other home builds. “The homeowners shared their stories and how appreciative they were to get a new home through Habitat,” said Dana Scott, account manager at C.H. Robinson. “We enjoyed working on the homes and assisting in Rock the Block day, where we trimmed bushes and took care of leaves and weeds in the neighborhood. It’s a great feeling, helping our neighbors.”

Columbus employees hosted office activities to collect donations and hosted a spin class and other events for the public. All these efforts helped to support Feeding South Florida, Five Strong Foundation, Inheritance of Hope, Mid-Ohio Foodbank and Unlikely Heroes.

In addition, employees volunteered time at Five Strong Foundation, hosting a basketball camp for differently abled children and adults and helping to coach. “It’s an amazing experience, raising money for an organization with which we have a personal connection,” said DeAnna Brienzi. “We’ve worked with them for nearly three years and plan to continue in the year ahead.”

Since 2005, C.H. Robinson, along with its Foundation, has given over $23 million back to our communities.

“Our employees are the best in the industry — not just in their supply chain expertise, but their dedication to making an impact in their communities on the issues that matter to them most,” said Angie Freeman, chief human resources officer at C.H. Robinson. “Because of them, we were able to support more than 250 nonprofits working locally and globally.”
