OAK BROOK, Ill., (September 20, 2012) – Tempur-Pedic International Inc. (NYSE: TPX), the leading manufacturer, marketer and distributor of premium mattresses and pillows worldwide, has provided over a million nights of rest and rejuvenation to more than 64,000 families served by Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®) through their partnership with the Ronald McDonald House® program throughout the United States. The milestone occurred today with the delivery of the 5,000th bed of Tempur-Pedic's ongoing national donation to the 30-bedroom Ronald McDonald House in Austin, Texas.

As part of the partnership, Tempur-Pedic has committed to providing beds to every participating Ronald McDonald House in the United States. The relationship between RMHC and Tempur-Pedic began when employees of the company began volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House in Lexington, Ky., the home of Tempur-Pedic.

"Tempur-Pedic's mission is to help people get their best nights' sleep every night, and we know this is particularly valuable for the parents and caregivers staying at a Ronald McDonald House," said Mark Sarvary, CEO of Tempur-Pedic International. "We're thankful to be helping families stay together, rest together and support each other in a great time of need."

Tempur-Pedic began outfitting Ronald McDonald Houses with beds in 2009 and all participating U.S. Houses will have Tempur-Pedic beds by the end of 2013. C.H. Robinson Worldwide, Inc., the logistics and transportation provider, planned the most efficient distribution of the beds over the course of the partnership and donated the associated transportation and delivery costs.

"We know that children heal better and faster with their families nearby, and Ronald McDonald Houses are there to provide all the comforts of home keeping families together while their child receives critical care at a nearby hospital," Marty Coyne, president and CEO, Ronald McDonald House Charities, added. "Families are tackling the illness of their child with all the energy they have and studies suggest that the stress and anxiety associated with a child's hospital stay can affect the parents' ability to make decisions. Parents staying at Houses said their sleep was more restful and less interrupted versus parents staying at the child's bedside overnight which helped alleviate stress."
