Eden Prairie, MN (March 6, 2012) Glory Foods®, Inc. and C.H. Robinson Worldwide, Inc., one of the largest produce sourcing companies in North America and marketer of Glory® fresh foods, are now delivering Glory® fresh kale to the west coast.

Recent increases in consumer demand has made kale more prevalent in regions of the country that previously saw little distribution.  The expanded distribution allows Glory® fresh kale to be available throughout the country.

Glory®, which is known for its southern-style canned and fresh foods, will provide a range of marketing and merchandising services in stores where Glory® fresh is sold.

"With consumer demand for kale growing every year, we are excited to launch Glory® kale on the west coast." said Todd Luecke, account manager for Glory® fresh produce. "Kale complements our existing Glory® fresh bagged items including collards, curly mustard, mixed and turnip greens which are already available in the area."

Currently offered in one and two pound packages, kale makes up 28.2% of total green sales in the United States and is enjoyed by consumers for its flavor and healthy benefits. The dark green vegetable has an abundance of antioxidants that help fight cancer-causing molecules, and can also aid in lowering cholesterol and reducing inflammation.

Glory Foods ready-to-cook, fresh-cut vegetables were launched in 2001 to meet the growing demand for a variety of prepared foods in grocery stores and restaurants. Delivering an authentic Southern-style experience in a convenient package, Glory Foods products expand beyond fresh produce to include seasoned canned vegetables, side dishes, cooking bases and hot sauces.
