“For us, having priority on loads that are more convenient for our trucks is huge. Less idle time means drivers are able to load faster and get themselves back on the road as soon as possible. This allows us to plan ahead and make better use of each driver’s hours of service, which results in more efficient use of our fleet.”

—Perla Vidaurri, General Manager, Trancasa

CARRIER ADVANTAGE™ PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Our Carrier Advantage™ Program is a strategic way to help strengthen your relationship with C.H. Robinson. We've organized all our contract carriers into three distinct tiers based on load volumes and service levels.

All C.H. Robinson contract carriers are automatically enrolled in the program, but your tier is up to you and your commitment to regular, reliable service. All statuses are reviewed on a quarterly basis.

Your carrier representative can tell you more about our Carrier Advantage Program.

CARRIER ADVANTAGE™ PROGRAM BENEFITS

We reward contract carriers who go the extra mile when hauling for C.H. Robinson. They get earlier access to freight, the opportunity to fill uncommitted freight, and added time to adequately plan for the load.

Strong long-term relationships are at the heart of our business. When you work with our representatives, you'll get to know them and trust them to help you keep your equipment moving—whether you're hitting the road or heading home.

BASE CARRIERS

This tier has no volume or service requirements.

CORE CARRIERS

All new contract carriers start as Core carriers. Any carrier in the Core tier must meet quarterly shipment volume and service requirements and align with a few C.H. Robinson offices to maintain their core status.

As part of this tier, Core carriers qualify for earlier access to freight opportunities, better QuickPay rates, and contractual freight opportunities.

KEY CARRIERS

All Key carriers must display the highest level of service of all contract carriers and meet quarterly volume thresholds to maintain their benefits.

In the Key tier, carriers get the earliest access to freight opportunities, pay the lowest QuickPay rates, and have the ability to make offers for freight online—no phone call required.

SERVICE REQUIREMENTS FOR CARRIERS

Carriers are benchmarked in five areas. Once volume requirements are met, your overall service score determines your tier. The five areas are listed below in order of weight:

Service area Description
Automation Updates through our mobile apps, EDI, or ELDs—rather than manual email, phone calls, or web updates—boost your score. Get more details
On time performance On time pickup and delivery increases your status.
Bounce rates When canceling a booked shipment, carriers can avoid negative rating impacts by providing notice at least 24 hours prior to pickup.
SLA Meeting all requirements defined in the service level agreement (SLA) improves your score.
Operational efficiency Quick and easy handling of operations (e.g., documentation, resolving claims, etc.) results in a higher rating.
