CALGARY, AB (October 27, 2017) C.H. Robinson, a global third party logistics (3PL) company, and its Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver offices contributed to a month-long, company-wide, employee-led giving campaign. The campaign raised a total of $791,000 for a variety of local and national charities. In addition to the Robinson Cares campaign fundraising, employees accumulated more than 1,450 volunteer hours, helping their neighbors in need.

The Calgary team hosted a BBQ Sale for its customers and contract carriers, helping to raise money for the Calgary Emergency Women’s Shelter and Calgary Inter-Faith Food Bank. “Our employees were thrilled to participate in the campaign and give back to their community,” said Shammah Flaman, account coordinator at C.H. Robinson. “Though, the best part was seeing how our network, our customers, contract carriers, families and friends jumped in to help and support these vital organizations with us.”

In Edmonton, the employees focused their fundraising and volunteering efforts with Youth Empowerment & Support Services (YESS) by hosting a parking lot party and silent auction. “It’s been rewarding for our team to get involved in the community and support YESS,” said Karen Wellner, general manager at C.H. Robinson. “Not only does it bring us together as a team, it brings the community together. We are better together.”

Employees in the Vancouver office hosted a raffle and organized donations for Aunt Leah’s Place, an organization that helps kids in foster care and young mothers achieve a better future. “When we learned of Aunt Leah’s Place, our team knew we needed to dedicate our campaign funds and volunteer efforts to them,” said Jennifer Schramek, operations representative at C.H. Robinson. “Their mission is critical to the care and future of the next generation.”

Since 2005, C.H. Robinson, along with its Foundation, has given over $23 million back to our communities.

“Our employees are the best in the industry — not just in their supply chain expertise, but their dedication to making an impact in their communities on the issues that matter to them most,” said Angie Freeman, chief human resources officer at C.H. Robinson. “Because of them, we were able to support more than 250 nonprofits working locally and globally.”
