PHOENIX, AZ (October 27, 2017) C.H. Robinson, a global third party logistics (3PL) company, and its Phoenix and Tucson offices contributed to a month-long, company-wide, employee-led giving campaign. The campaign raised a total of $791,000 for a variety of local and national charities. In addition to the Robinson Cares campaign fundraising, employees accumulated more than 1,450 volunteer hours, helping their neighbors in need.

The company’s Phoenix and Tucson offices fundraised to support the following charities: JDRF, 22 Too Many, Ronald McDonald House, The Humane Society of Southern Arizona and Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona.

In addition to office fundraisers, the Phoenix office hosted the inaugural Defeat Type 1 Diabetes Golf Tournament. “Because of the commitment and generosity of organizations like C.H. Robinson, JDRF is the leading global nonprofit organization focused on finding a cure for type 1 diabetes (T1D),” said Joan Kaminski, development manager at JDRF – Arizona Chapter. “Every dollar the C.H. Robinson employees raised helps JDRF fund important research. We appreciate C.H. Robinson’s support in making a difference in our community.”

The Phoenix office selected JDRF as one of its charities due to a personal connection. “Ever since my daughter, Grace, was diagnosed with T1D, I have wanted to give back to JDRF for all the support they provided to us,” said Grant Meyers, carrier representative at C.H. Robinson. “We not only raised a great deal of money for the children at this event, but were able to educate people about this relentless and terrible disease.”

In Tucson, employees joined forces with local contract carriers who work with the business to address community hunger. “We are very thankful for the contract carriers who helped us collect food items for The Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona,” said Alejandro Arias, general manager at C.H. Robinson. “It was such a rewarding experience that it energizes us further to participate in other volunteer opportunities to help our neighbors.”

Since 2005, C.H. Robinson, along with its Foundation, has given over $23 million back to our communities.

“Our employees are the best in the industry — not just in their supply chain expertise, but their dedication to making an impact in their communities on the issues that matter to them most,” said Angie Freeman, chief human resources officer at C.H. Robinson. “Because of them, we were able to support more than 250 nonprofits working locally and globally.”
