Eden Prairie, MN (June 4, 2012) C.H. Robinson Worldwide, one of the world's largest third party logistics companies, has announced that it is, for the third straight year, the title sponsor for the Bike MS: C.H. Robinson Worldwide MS 150 Ride. The ride takes place June 9 to 10, 2012.

This two-day bike ride is the largest cycling event in Minnesota covering approximately 150 miles beginning in Duluth, Minn., and ending near the Twin Cities. Donations raised through the ride directly help people affected by multiple sclerosis (MS) through support programs, services and cutting-edge research. The Upper Midwest Chapter of the National MS Society serves more than 17,000 people living with the disease and the ride raised more than $2.8 million in 2011.

C.H. Robinson's involvement in the MS 150 began in 2004 with a group of 12 C.H. Robinson employees who shared a passion for cycling. After a few years of participating, the group began to see how their enthusiasm directly impacted those with MS and recruited other employees, friends and family to join "Team Robinson." Today, more than 550 employees, families, and friends have ridden with the team.

"Watching our team as it grows and seeing how our members are impacting the National MS Society is very rewarding," said Peter Borgen, 2012 team captain and original Team Robinson rider. "The support Team Robinson receives from our executives, co-workers, friends and family is tremendous. I am very proud of the work that we all have done to help find a cure for MS."

Multiple sclerosis is a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the central nervous system (CNS), which is made up of the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves. The progress, severity, and specific symptoms of MS are unpredictable and vary from one person to another. Today, new treatments and advances in research are giving new hope to people affected by the disease.

"We're proud to partner with C.H. Robinson Worldwide," said Holly Anderson, president of the National MS Society, Upper Midwest Chapter. "It's the support at every level of their organization, from riders to volunteers, that moves our mission forward."

The National MS Society is a collective of passionate individuals who want to move together toward a world free of multiple sclerosis. The Society helps each person address the challenges of living with MS through their 50-state network of chapters by funding cutting-edge research, driving change through advocacy, facilitating professional education, and providing programs and services that help people with MS and their families move their lives forward.
