Houston, TX, December 15, 2010 — The Houston Minority Supplier Development Council (HMSDC) honored C.H. Robinson Worldwide, Inc. with the Emerging Prime Supplier Award at HMSDC's EXPO 2010.  C.H. Robinson was nominated for the award by ConocoPhillips.

The Emerging Prime Supplier Award is presented annually to the prime supplier who has best met their customers' second tier requirements judged on the basis of commitment, innovation and expenditure with Minority Business Enterprises.

Robinson contributes to its customers' supplier diversity programs by reporting on secondary transportation spending with both certified and uncertified (self-reporting) transportation companies.  With access to over 14,000 tier 2 carriers, C.H. Supplier diversity is a priority for many shippers and C.H. Robinson works with them to meet their goals and objectives which include assisting their minority business development efforts, supporting the carriers within their network and reporting their diversity spend.
