Minneapolis, MN, June  10, 2010  — Evergreen Packaging, a world leader in beverage packaging systems, publication and converting papers, is moving to centrally manage its North American  logistics as an effort to be more efficient and cost effective for their customers.

The firm recently awarded Transportation Management Center (TMC), a division of C.H. Robinson, a three-year contract to centrally manage Evergreen Packaging's North American logistics.  C.H. Robinson is a one of the largest third party logistics (3PL) companies in the world, providing global multimodal transportation services and logistics solutions.

TMC will provide a combination of proprietary web based TMS technology and dedicated transportation experts for Evergreen Packaging's outbound freight networks. Evergreen Packaging will enhance control of carrier selection and rate negotiation using TMC's Managed TMS® services.

David Friedson, Director, Logistics & Distribution for Evergreen Packaging, said, "We believe this is an area where we can see improvement. We wanted a team that could bring our logistics practices to the next level, providing continuous improvement and creating greater efficiencies. We are especially excited to have greater visibility into our entire network, which we currently do not have. We believe TMC can use their technology and their people to help us get better." TMC provides visibility across Evergreen's entire North American network and will provide reporting, including freight audit and bill pay, enabling a uniformed process across the enterprise.

The implementation process will take place over two phases and is expected to be fully completed by the third quarter of 2010. "Evergreen is a leader in their industry and we look forward to collaboratively executing tangible ROI and sustained process improvements," said Jordan Kass, director of C.H. Robinson's TMC. "Thanks to our cloud computing model, dedicated experts, and deep experience, implementation has been very successful. The key to this has been a great core team and we have had tremendous buy-in from Evergreen. Integration has been fully supported on the client side, which is essential for a successful implementation."

Added Friedson, "TMC will also help us measure our carbon footprint as it relates to transportation. Essentially, both of our teams are working together, bringing best practices to the table that will benefit our customers, community and the environment – a true collaboration. We look forward to increasing our supply chain efficiencies through TMC's team."
