CHRW acquires two European freight forwarding companies, Hirdes Group Worldwide, which has seven locations in Germany and three locations in the United States, and Bussini Transport S.r.l., based in Milan, Italy.

CHRW acquires three produce sourcing and marketing companies. FoodSource, Inc. and FoodSource Procurement, and Epic Roots, Inc.

2004
CHRW acquires the selected assets of China-based Dalian Decheng Shipping Agency Co. (DDSA), acquiring 7 new offices, located in mainland China, in Dalian, Tianjin, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen and Shenzhen.

CHRW acquires Camway Transportation Corporation, a third party logistics company in Toledo, OH, that provides domestic truckload and intermodal transportation brokerage services.

2003
CHRW acquires Frank M. Viet GmbH Internationale Spedition, an international freight forwarding and third-party logistics company based in Hamburg, Germany.

2002
CHRW acquires FTS, a non-asset-based transportation provider in Miami, Florida.

2000
CHRW enters a new service by acquiring Trans-Consolidated Inc. (TCI), a third-party, temperature controlled LTL (less-than-truckload) provider. Like CHRW, TCI is non-asset-based.

1999
CHRW acquires Norminter S.A., a non-asset-based third party based in Caen, France, with offices in France, Germany, Spain, and the U.K. CHRW also acquires Vertex, a transportation provider in New York, and American Backhaulers, a non-asset-based, third party transportation provider that supplies primarily over-the-road transportation services throughout the United States.
