At C.H. Robinson, we invest in our people and support our employees both in and outside of the office. Our comprehensive benefit plans give you peace of mind with the following benefits:

Benefits are available to all employees working 20 or more hours per week. Employees are eligible for benefits on the first day of the month following 30 days of employment.

Your Health

Health Insurance

Protect the health of yourself and your family with C.H. Robinson's health plan. The plan is the UnitedHealthCare (UHC) Choice Plus Plan, a preferred provider organization (PPO). You can see any doctor you want, but if your doctor is in the plan's network, you pay less. Preventive care is covered at 100% and for most other services, you pay a percentage of the cost. Keeping track of your expenses is easy with UHC's online tools.

Dental Insurance

Appropriate dental care is important to your overall health. To help you maintain healthy teeth and gums, C.H. Robinson offers dental insurance that covers preventive dental procedures and a good portion of other dental work. The dental plan is administered by Delta Dental of Minnesota.

Vision Insurance

The vision plan is designed to help you pay for routine eye examinations and eyewear. You are free to see any provider, but you will receive a higher benefit when you receive services from a participating vision service provider.

Life Insurance

C.H. Robinson provides you with life insurance at no cost to you. You receive basic life insurance equal to one times your annual compensation, which is your base salary plus your annual bonus, if applicable. You also have the option to buy supplemental life insurance for yourself, your spouse, and your children. 

Disability Insurance

You are automatically enrolled in both our Short and Long Term Disability coverage based on your full salary. Our Short Term Disability coverage is a salary continuation plan fully paid by C.H. Robinson. We will also pay the Long Term Disability (LTD) premium on your salary up to $30,000, with you being responsible for paying the LTD premium on any salary over $30,000.

Flexible Spending Accounts

The flexible spending plan is a pre-tax benefit plan that can save you money. Out-of-pocket medical, dental, eye wear, and day care expenses that you have to pay each year can quickly add up to hundreds or even thousands of dollars. Ordinarily, these expenses are paid for with your after-tax dollars, but if you enroll in a flexible spending account, you can set aside pre-tax dollars via payroll deduction to pay for these out-of-pocket expenses.

Your Time Off

Paid Vacation

We appreciate our employees and reward them for their hard work by offering paid vacation. Paid vacation is earned based on the employee’s date of hire and the years of service with the company.

Employees are paid for seven holidays each year: 
  • New Year’s Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving
  • Christmas Day
  • One Floater Holiday (to be used for other personal or religious holidays)

Your Retirement

401(k)

C.H. Robinson offers a competitive 401(k) plan that provides a company matching contribution to build your retirement savings. For every dollar you save, C.H. Robinson matches it dollar for dollar up to 4% of your pay. The company’s contributions are deposited into your account each pay period and are immediately vested.

Profit Sharing Plan

In addition to the 401(k) plan, C.H. Robinson makes a generous additional contribution to your retirement savings. On an annual basis, C.H. Robinson makes a discretionary profit sharing contribution as a percentage of your eligible pay. The profit sharing contributions for the past five years have been:

You become 100% vested after five years of working more than 1,000 hours per year. If you are participating in the 401(k) and taking advantage of the company match, the average company contribution to your retirement (profit sharing & 401(k) match) can equal 10% of your pay*.

*This average is based on the previous five years of profit sharing contributions and the 4% company match.

Your Career Growth

Orientation

New employees are welcomed to C.H. Robinson in a number of ways. In an effort to quickly engage new team members, we have structured a six month orientation process. This includes pairing employees with a mentor and providing a new employee checklist outlining introductory items and activities that employees must complete. At the end of six months, they receive feedback on their performance.  During their first annual review, employees collaborate with their managers to create professional and personal goals for the upcoming year.

Learning & Development

Based on individual development needs, formal and informal learning opportunities are available to our employees. We offer both local and centralized learning opportunities to support new and existing team members as they develop the knowledge and skills needed for current and future roles. Employees are provided with ongoing opportunities to enhance their skills and define their career path. Our annual review process centers around professional and career goals, and we offer many enhancement courses to employees. We understand that when employees apply their skills and maximize the empowerment they are afforded, they can shape and direct their careers while contributing to the success of both C.H. Robinson and themselves.
