Mike's Story
I came to C.H. Robinson by way of acquisition of my previous company, American Backhaulers. From the very beginning of my C.H. Robinson career, I found an environment where I could immediately contribute and be heard. Transitioning to a new environment and corporate culture is a daunting task, however C.H. Robinson made the process easy because I was allowed to roll up my sleeves and get involved.
Ten years later, my position and location have changed, but my opinion of C.H. Robinson has not. At C.H. Robinson, you are in control of your career. You receive the support and guidance to plan where you want to go and determine the path to arrive there. There are seldom days that you don't have the opportunity to learn something new.
Working for the IT department at C.H. Robinson also gives you a window into the business side of the company. I have the opportunity to interact with a wide range of business units and branch personnel in my job, which is an invaluable part of our ability to deliver a good product.
I began my carreer at C.H. Robinson in Chicago working as a Business Analyst. When my personal life brought me to the Minneapolis area in 2007, I was welcomed into the greater IT family and given the opportunity to be a team lead. By working closely with IT leadership on my carreer growth goals, I was awarded the position of IT Supervisor in 2009, and I currently help manage 12 people in various roles spanning 3 teams.
