JP’s Story

I started with C.H. Robinson almost five years ago as a sophomore in college at the University of North Texas. I joined the Fort Worth team as an intern December 2005 when the branch had only 23 employees.

Initially, I worked with the INTEX group assisting with operations on the SWS-Subway® account. After a few months, I moved to our flatbed group, where I worked for three years in our flatbed, heavy haul, and specialized equipment division. In 2007, I was given an opportunity to learn more about our recently-acquired domestic air facility, LXSI. After some training, I became a subject matter expert in domestic air for my branch and got my TSA certification.

My manager had me work very closely with local universities and our Recruiting Division to ensure Fort Worth stayed well ahead of the curve in hiring and maintaining a top-notch internship program. This gave me the opportunity to visit other offices within our network, including Detroit, Chattanooga, and Iowa City, to help them replicate our internship program.

In Spring 2009, another door opened to join our strategic sales team. When I graduated from the University of North Texas later that year, I joined the team with a full-time focus on outside, strategic sales. My branch, manager, and intern program have been really unique and a great experience. The atmosphere and culture at C.H. Robinson is unmatched in our industry.
