This internship has taught me to feel confident in a room of my superiors and to share my ideas and opinions. I have learned that the individual value each employee brings to the company is equally as important as the overall group productivity.

Charlotte’s Story

I met my current boss at a career fair put on by the University of New Mexico Business School. Even though I am currently earning a degree in Public Relations, I wanted a more traditional business internship.

Working for C.H. Robinson had great appeal because the internship was paid and extremely hands-on. After a series of interviews and a day of shadowing a C.H. Robinson employee, I was offered the position. I was excited because I wanted real job responsibilities with the flexibility to still be a college student, and C.H. Robinson was the perfect fit.

current internship openingsMy first day on the job was lots of training, lots of reading, and lots of computer simulations. I dove right in, and my boss cheered me on every step of the way! It was a learn-as-you-go process, which was very effective. C.H. Robinson allows interns the room they need to grow. You face real challenges involving real customers with real money. There is no better way to start your career than jumping feet first into the pool!

I am excited to stay with the Albuquerque office while I finish my undergraduate degree. In the future, my goal is to transfer to the Atlanta branch while I pursue my graduate degree at Georgia State. I am grateful to C.H. Robinson for giving me real responsibilities that will allow me to either grow within the company or bring quality experience to a future work environment.
