Mike’s Story
I was first introduced to C.H. Robinson my junior year at Purdue's Spring Career Fair. I wasn't familiar with the company at first, but soon discovered that C.H. Robinson is the largest third party logistics provider in the U.S. and a major player in the freight game all over the world.
I quickly submitted my resume to the college recruiters visiting my school hoping to get a shot at the internship they were offering that summer. I was fortunate enough to be offered the position after interviewing with the Indianapolis branch. So I packed my bags for Indy and spent the summer of 2009 slinging freight all over the U.S.
The Indianapolis branch threw me right in the mix of things on my first day. My manager was a firm believer in the philosophy, "Learn by doing." That first day flew by, and so did my summer. Time flies at the office. It's a fast-paced working environment that requires multitasking and problem solving around every corner.
After my summer of moving freight, I was hooked. The Indianapolis branch offered me a full-time position, and I quickly accepted. It's hard to believe that my one-year anniversary with C.H. Robinson is already here. Looking back, this year has been challenging, fun, and a great learning experience. Working at C.H. Robinson opened my eyes to the logistics world, and at the same time, it allowed me to get valuable sales experience under my belt. I've had a great time so far, and I look forward to my future at C.H. Robinson.
