How to apply for a grant
Thank you for your interest in the C.H. Robinson Worldwide Foundation (the "Foundation"). Please read the FAQs below before applying for a grant.
What are the eligibility requirements to receive a grant?
To qualify for a Foundation grant, your charitable organization must meet one of our giving priorities listed below:
Resource Center
- Assist with basic living needs like food and housing
- Create life-enriching opportunities and programs for children and youth
In addition to meeting the giving priorities above, your organization:
- Must be a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit or public agency.
- Should not be political or religious in nature. Grants to organizations with religious affiliation may be considered on an exception basis, but only if the grant will be used for non-religious purposes.
- Must comply with IRS regulations.
- Should serve the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area, greater Minnesota, or be national or international in scope.
- Must meet certain operating standards, including reasonable administrative and fundraising costs of generally less than 30 percent of the total budget.
How can my organization apply for a grant?
To apply for a Foundation grant, you must complete and submit our grant application (see the Resource Center above).
When is the grant application deadline?
In 2010, applications are due by the 15th day of February, May, August, and November for consideration at the next quarterly meeting.
When will I be notified if my grant is approved?
In 2010, all applicants will be notified of their grant application status by the last business day of March, June, September and December.
Am I eligible for a Foundation grant if the 501(c)(3) status is pending for my organization?
No. Only organizations that are verified with a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) status are eligible to receive grants.
