Corporate Events

Great company, great people, great causes

C.H. Robinson has always been committed to its employees and great causes. When these two forces combine, it creates a powerful impact. We are proud to sponsor the events below, which are just two examples of the kinds of events we support each year. But we're even prouder of our dedicated employees who rally together to make their communities and the world a better place.

Dodgeball
Dodgeball Tournament

Recipient: Cancer Kids Fund at Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota®
Synopsis: Crazy costumes, a retrofitted warehouse, and flying dodgeballs—all to support an employee's desire to give back

When employee Kent Stuart's daughter Megan was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor, she began undergoing treatment at Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota. Kent was so profoundly affected by the care and expertise of the staff that he wanted to do something to express his gratitude. With C.H. Robinson's support, he began organizing a dodgeball tournament to raise money for the Cancer Kids Fund, which provides support, care, and comfort to kids and families coping with cancer or blood disorders who are being treated at Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota. C.H. Robinson's employees caught the spirit of the event, creating team costumes and reveling in the rare opportunity to throw dodgeballs at each other. Over three years, the tournament has raised more than $120,000, and Megan is always on the sidelines, cheering the teams on. Kent continues to be amazed at the support from C.H. Robinson and his colleagues. "The best part about working for a company like C.H. Robinson is that they don't have to give back, yet they go out of their way to support all kinds of great causes."

MS 150 Bike Tour
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) 150 Bike Tour

Recipient: National Multiple Sclerosis Society®
Synopsis: A two-day, 150-mile bike ride of grit and determination from Duluth, MN, to the Twin Cities

Come rain, shine, hail, or high temps, C.H. Robinson employees have been participating in the MS 150 Bike Tour in Minnesota for the past five years. Team Robinson has grown each year, with more employees and their families and friends willing to climb on their bikes for this great cause. Five years and hundreds of grueling, yet rewarding miles later, Team Robinson has raised approximately $250,000 for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, which conducts research and offers programs for people living with MS. C.H. Robinson entertains and rewards its team at the halfway mark in Hinckley, MN, with grilled burgers and brats, games, and live music. Many employees also work as volunteers, manning lunch stops to rejuvenate riders and providing a boisterous cheering section for our team. Team Robinson's Eric Mesenburg, who serves for the sixth time in 2009 as the team's co-captain, said, "I have a friend with MS, so seeing the company I work for put so much time, energy, and money into this special event makes me proud to work for C.H. Robinson." Co-captain Pete Borgen added, "It's a fun event, and I enjoy giving up a weekend each year to support this great cause."
